Hey everyone, im new to the forum. I am a 24y/o Paramedic/Firefighter, was an EMT-B then became a Paramedic at 20. Where I live (Dayton, OH) its almost like you have to win the lottery to get a fulltime fire job. I have been working 24on 48off for the past 3 years and considered "part-time". I am getting fed up with the politics involved and dont want to leave my family (huge support) behind. Im also not in a pension at all and feel that its time to make a switch into something that offers financial security. I was just wondering if there is anyone on here that did the same thing and did they enjoy the change? Or is there anyone that works with anyone that was/is a firefighter and what they thought about making the change? Any input/support would be greatly appreciated! |
