I have worked in many areas of nursing, my last being home infusion. I stopped working in 2000 to be at home with my children. I located refresher courses in my region but would like to find a job that provides mentorship for reentry RN's. Does anyone know of a job with this type of provision? I live in PA. |

I don't know of a specific program but, you could try the larger teaching type hospitals. I would ask to be bundled in with whatever new grad prorams they have. These usually provide extra support in classroom and extended orientation. Don't you just love infusion care? I am enjoying it and learning so much more about Pharmokinetics and the role of the nurse in recognizing possible contraindications and interactions. There was never time for this in the hospital. I always felt they just wanted me to move faster and faster and not take time to look anything up at all. |

talk to the nurse manager of the hospital. i have worked with many nurses like you and they give them like a 4 week orientation back to the hospital course were they pair you with a nurse and you see how things work. |
