Hi everyone...I'm new here and new to forums in general. I really believe in nurturing my fellow nurses and advocating for nurses to take care of themselves (with regard to nursing stress)!

Look forward to getting to know you guys! (in my inexperience, I've used my "real" name as my login name so there's no mystery there!)

I'm a med-surg RN on a gyne-uro-oncology floor (plus almost any type of overflow patients that don't need more than oxinet monitoring from 15 years old to 100 y/o!). We routinely do hysterectomy recovery, RADICAL hysterectomy recovery (ovarian, female cancers) and prostate surgeries (TURP with CBI, etc.). I hang chemo. occasionally.

I've been a nurse for five years, I'm happily married for 20 years, have 3 great kids (17, 15 & 12) and I LOVE walking and hiking!

I love working with student nurses and I'm involved in 2 committees, clinical ladder and mentoring at my hospital.

Take care of yourselves nurses,
Theresa
