I'll be completing my first assignment in Jan. in San Diego. So far I really loved the weather and outdoor activities. I'd like to travel somewhere else, but not sure what place would match up with my interests. I'm looking for a place that has mild winters and <90 degree weather in the summer. I want to be around nature of some sort - big trees, mountains, water, beach, etc...Definetly a place where I can go hiking or exploring. If anyone has advice, please let me know.

For the type of climate you are desiring, try an assignment in either Arkansas or Missouri. A mid-size town would probably be better than a metro area. Good luck and happy trails! Smile

If you are coming to missouri avoid columbia. I was shocked to find out that this was a teaching facility for doctors and I (the nurse) was doing the teaching. There are other problems as well such as being told nurse patient ratio was one thing and then finding out it wasnt that at all it was much higher. also being told I was going to be on a tele floor and that not being true either. Sure it has tele capability but there was not monitor tech and also having pt. who went to the cath lab and got cardiac stents and not being put on tele??? Whats up with that??? very strange. And dangerous.
